About Azibact 250 Tablet 10's

Azibact 250 Tablet 10's belongs to a group of medicines known as macrolide antibiotics. It is used to treat various bacterial infections of the respiratory system (like pneumonia, bronchitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis and sinusitis), skin infections (like acne and rosacea), ear infections, and sexually transmitted infections. A bacterial infection is a condition in which bacteria grows in the body and cause infection. It can target any body part and multiple very quickly.

Azibact 250 Tablet 10's slow the growth or sometimes kill the harmful bacteria by preventing the production of proteins required by the bacteria for its survival. Azibact 250 Tablet 10's does not treat a viral infection like flu or a common cold.

Azibact 250 Tablet 10's should only be taken if advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food but should be consumed at a fixed time for the best results. Azibact 250 Tablet 10's should not be consumed more than the recommended dose, to avoid unpleasant side effects. And also, the course should be completed even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic. Some common side effects of Azibact 250 Tablet 10's are diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, indigestion. An allergic reaction such as rashes, itching, swelling, and shortness of breath can occur in rare cases. Please consult your doctor if an allergic reaction becomes severe.

Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, muscle problem (myasthenia gravis), heart rhythm disorder (arrhythmia), electrolyte imbalance (low potassium or magnesium level). If you have diarrhoea without blood or mucus for more than four days, you should consult a doctor. However, do not take any anti-diarrheal medicine until your doctor tells you. It is not known whether Azibact 250 Tablet 10's harm baby or passes into breast milk in pregnancy and breastfeeding state. It is better to contact a doctor before using Azibact 250 Tablet 10's during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Avoid too much exposure to sunlight as Azibact 250 Tablet 10's can make your skin sensitive to sunburn. In this case, it is advisable to wear protective clothing or apply sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) when you are outdoors.

Azibact 250 Tablet 10's slow the growth or sometimes kill the harmful bacteria by preventing the production of proteins required by the bacteria for its survival. It prevents and treats bacterial infections like throat and sinus infections, chest infections (like bronchitis and pneumonia), ear infections, mouth and dental infections, eye infections, skin and tissue infections (like acne), stomach and intestinal infections. It is better tolerated and has more effective tissue penetration compared to other similar antibiotics like erythromycin. Doctor prescribe Azibact 250 Tablet 10's for people who are intolerant of penicillin antibiotics. Besides this, it also helps in the prevention of infection following burns, surgery or dental procedure, sexually transmitted infections, bone infections or scarlet fever (bacterial illness with strep throat).

Directions for Use

If your doctor has prescribed the capsule form of Azibact 250 Tablet 10's, you should take it at least 1 hour before food or 2 hours after eating with a glass of water. Tablets and liquid forms of Azibact 250 Tablet 10's can be taken with a meal or empty stomach. Azibact 250 Tablet 10's is available in liquid form especially for the children who have difficulty in swallowing.

Side Effects of Azibact 250 Tablet 10's

Most of the side effects of Azibact 250 Tablet 10's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor. The most common side effect of Azibact 250 Tablet 10's are diarrhoea, feeling or being sick (nausea or vomiting), and stomach cramps, loss of appetite, bloating and indigestion. Very rarely, it can cause chest pain, skin rash, stomach pain, yellowing of skin/eyes, seizures (fits), dark urine, hallucination, ringing in the ear (tinnitus), imbalance disorder (vertigo). These side effects may be for a short interval of time, but if these persists speak with the doctor.

Drug Warnings

Tell your doctor if you have liver problems (jaundice), muscle problem (myasthenia gravis), heart rhythm disorder (arrhythmia), electrolyte imbalance (low potassium or magnesium level). In rare case, the use of Azibact 250 Tablet 10's can cause diarrhoea, so in case if you have watery or bloody diarrhoea, stop taking Azibact 250 Tablet 10's and call your doctor. However, do not take any anti-diarrheal medicine until your doctor tells you. It is not known whether Azibact 250 Tablet 10's harm the baby in pregnancy or not. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy or breastfeeding before using Azibact 250 Tablet 10's. Do not take Azibact 250 Tablet 10's if you are allergic to Azibact 250 Tablet 10's or other macrolide antibiotics, using cholesterol-lowering drugs (statins like simvastatin, lovastatin etc.), anti-gout or anti-arthritis drugs (colchicine) and medicine for treating overactive bladder (tolterodine). Azibact 250 Tablet 10's is not recommended for the patients with pneumonia who are judged to be inappropriate for oral therapy due to moderate to severe illness or risk factor.
